Bat Shit Crazy

Jack Thompson is a wacko. For anyone who doesn't know, he's a lawyer who's chosen to make his career by being a vocal opponent of violent and indecent video games. He believes that video games condition kids to be sociopaths. And then, he issues a challenge to the game industry to produce an obscenely violent and indecent game, offering to give $10,000 to charity if anyone does.

My problem with this, putting all the obvious "I play video games and I haven't killed anyone (in at least a week)" arguments aside, is entirely one of people issuing stupid challenges. Jack, if anyone made that game, you'd have added to the problem you seem to hate. Further, you've offered a bribe of charity to people you believe to be socially irresponsible, to get them to do the very thing you believe to be socially irresponsible. Lastly, it's a stupid fucking game idea.

And so, I propose we tie knives to a bunch of hamsters, throw them into a swimming pool, toss old Jacko there into the mix, and put one of them tarpy covery things on it. That way, we're not being violent, hamsters are.

For the record, the hamster thing is not my work. It's some random internet person, someone who should be my friend.
