Parental Supervision is Advised

Parental Supervision is Advised

Observations

I often seem to get around to doing this news post only after I should already be asleep. This results in a brevity that is not indicative of my best work. I shall endeavor to revise this practice to be more accomodating to my audience.

It is thundering outside right now, and such is one of the few events that causes my cat to seek affection. She is a housebound feral creature. Which is to say, she was raised with little nurturing, but in a house, and so has the instincts of a loner, but none of the experience. To help her adjust, I let her outside, confident in her cowardice to keep her from any real harm. She loves it, and has really grown in the past several months into a strong and willful feline. I mention this only because she is attempting to write this post for me, walking repeatedly over the keys.

Other musings. I have two friends getting married in the next few months. I must say, I enjoy weddings. There's a kind of celebration that you don't always see in a diverse spread of generations, but there's a sort of 'anything goes' card for lots of people at weddings. And I like suits and tuxes. I vehemently detest the notion of wearing one every day, but I for one enjoy pretending to be James Bond every once in a while, using the laser in my watch to pick locks, unhook bras, and blind nefarious villains. Perhaps one day someone will present me with an award while I wear a tux. It's safe to call that a milestone of success. And I won't even kill them with my watch, I'll be so grateful.

Reading the news this weekend has given me all sorts of giggles. For example, John Bolton lies on paper about ties to conservative groups. Bush will appoint him anyway. And then Scott McClellan lies too. Maybe he didn't lie, maybe he just had an intelligence failure.

We now have a 10th planet in our solar system, invalidating millions of high school science projects. Perhaps now those lazy students will stop building models and start curing cancer. Brats.

And lastly, a cool Joss Whedon interview, uncut and very interesting. About a month old, only surfacing now, but still neat. I am unrepentant about my Whedon knob-slobbery. Let it be known!
