A Guided Tour

A Guided Tour

The End is Nigh

I'm trapped by the deadly siren song of Harry Potter. I very nearly didn't have the willpower to break it's spell and work on the comic today. It's not so much that they are great works of fiction as they are fast and involving reads. Like the DaVinci Code, it's not going on my shelf of favorite works of literature. It's more akin to locking myself in the bathroom, wrapping a belt around my arm, and intravenously injecting pure adolescent entertainment. Even I like to remember being young.

After reading Harry Potter, check out Books of Magic by Neil Gaiman, and after reading the DaVinci Code, read Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco. Oh, and if anyone is curious, Books of Magic was published in '93, and Potter was published in '98. So the freakish similarity between Harry Potter and Tim Hunter is a result of J.K. Rowling ripping off Neil Gaiman. Or coincidence.

This is for anyone who thinks American politicians are the worst in the world. This guy has cojones, you gotta give him that.

I went to a great function last night for the Busycle project. I got involved when Heather, one of the artists on the project, asked me to help design their website. Now it's getting press, being mentioned in the Boston Pheonix, the Metro, the Boston Globe (google produced no strong links... ah well, take my word for it)... It's the sort of thing I can really get behind, considering the bleak future of oil-based energy. So go check out the Busycle site, and volunteer, if you're in the Boston area. It's going to be a lot of fun.

EDIT: If any of you have been following the page, Save Connecticon hit its $34,000 goal. In 9 days. NINE DAYS!!! My mind is officially blown. If you donated, thank you.

EDIT 2: After a few people have asked me what the hell I'm talking about, I suppose I should actually make an effort to explain my cultural references. Brett Ratner is the director working on X-Men 3, and Tom Rothman is an executive at Fox who, according to this article, is making some terrible decisions. So... there it is.
