Goddamn Painter

Painter crashed today at 5:30, as I was leaving day-job to go to night-job. I was saving my afternoon's work on the comic when it 'quit unexpectedly', losing me the whole afternoon. I admit, I should have saved. But wow, there's nothing like working really hard on something, despite a sluggishness of demeanor, to then lose it to some memory crisis on my computer. Bah.

So, working since then, virtually non-stop (doing the requisite amount of work at night-job aside), listening to Owen and Mat (brother and roommate, respectively) play Zelda tunes on guitar, I've completed it a scant half hour behind schedule. Of course, cranking out this news post is pushing me back further, but so what? I'm got some fun things to mention.

For starters, in the Fall, I will be attending the Massachusetts College of Art. Returning to school, this time for real. Interestingly, one of the required courses in your first semester is American Thought and Government. I'll be studying with Noel Ignatiev, a guy Rolling Stone calls one of the 10 most dangerous minds in academia. How fortunate. If there was any question that MassArt was the place for me, this lays all doubt to rest. I'll be very happy there, I feel. Perhaps Mr. Ignatiev can explain how things like published 'talking points' are considered kosher in this society. Or how you can arrest a soldier for running for office.

The Decemberists continue to make me happy. That's another torrent file, by the way. You'll need BitTorrent to download it.
