DIVISOR - Gazed and Contused

DIVISOR - Gazed and Contused

La Di Da

Howdy folks. Last week, Comedy Central aired part 2 of the South Park Cartoon Wars, and in a startling move of cowardice, censored the image of Muhammed that they so vehemently promoted. If you've seen the episode, and Part 1, and their copious ads for the second episode (questioning whether they will show the image uncensored, "or will Comdey Central puss out?"), you probably thought the censored part where Muhammed would be shown had they not gone to a black screen was all part of the joke.

Turns out, there's a lot more to the issue.

Not only did Comedy Central censor the full on showing of Muhammed, they did it despite the fact that they've shown Muhammed before, uncensored and making semen jokes. So what happened? Did Comedy Central puss out? Were they taking a jab at themselves? Was it tongue in cheek? Or was it capitulation to the great Political Correctness menace the republicans seem to be so afraid of? What would have happened if they HAD shown Muhammed? Would the streets of LA flow with blood? Would that be bad? What will happen when some dizzy-with-power Ayatollah discovers the old episode of South Park? Will he declare fatwas on Trey Parker and Matt Stone?

More people need to learn how to take a joke.
