How To Be A Texas Congressman

How To Be A Texas Congressman

100!!!!

This is the one-hundreth comic! Hooray!

Except that 6 of those comics were provided by my friend Tyler. Guest strips while my tablet was in repair limbo.

And one the subject of that unreliable piece of completely indispensible hardware, guess why the comic is late. GUESS! Oh yeah, baby. The tablet is about as bad now as it has ever been. So I'm taking this Centennial Event as the signal to take a break and send the tablet in. I'm not sure how long that'll take, last time it was two freaking weeks, and I haven't even begun the 'arguement' part of tech support. And this all hinges on whether I am still under warrantee. Grr. I might do some hand drawn stuff in the meantime, just to keep updating, but I can make no promises as to the schedule. So check back, but don't get mad at me if it's still this comic in a week.

So yeah, the President has been letting the NSA spy on y'all. Doesn't that make you happy? It should, because if we had only let them wiretap us earlier, 9/11 would never have happened. Even better, though, is how the administration is publicly sulking over the fact that we heard about it.

I often wonder if the terror threat might actually exist to the extent that they tell us it does. And if so, do we actually need these breeches in civil liberties and compromises of our collective ethics, such as the torture issue, to defend this country from deadly attacks? What if all of us belly aching liberals are wrong?

Then I remember the war in Iraq, the blatant goading of the Islamic war machine, and the fat stacks of tax payer cash that's going into the military industrial complex. And I think, "Hm. Even if there IS a massive terrorist threat to America that requires the violation of our civil liberties to combat, it's STILL the fault of the administration (and the ones that came before it)." Funny that.
